Cisco BCP Tool

Designed in 2006

The Cisco Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Tool was a critical web-based document management system I designed, developed, and implemented during my time with Cisco’s Supply Chain Risk Management team. The tool was created to streamline the process of gathering, tracking, and reporting on the status of suppliers’ business continuity plans. By centralizing the management of these plans, the tool ensured that Cisco had a clear and organized view of supplier readiness in the event of a crisis, significantly enhancing Cisco’s ability to respond to supply chain disruptions.

My responsibilities included creating an intuitive document management system using ColdFusion, which allowed the team to streamline the collection and validation of supplier plans. This tool enabled real-time status updates and tracking, providing the leadership team with a clear overview of potential risks and vulnerabilities across the supply chain.

The BCP tool also featured a web-based dashboard that enabled Manufacturing Crisis Management teams to highlight critical issues, assign action items, and reduce recovery time during crises. The result was a more robust and proactive approach to supply chain resilience, improving Cisco’s ability to mitigate risks and respond to unexpected disruptions.
